WHO IS YOGA GOOD FOR?
Yoga is perfect for people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. Your teacher will help you grow and develop your practice based on your personal level of physical fitness.
WHICH CLASS IS RIGHT FOR ME?
All our classes are all open to beginners with the exception of our Intermediate/Advanced class (just once per week), so try them all to see which you like best! If you have any questions beforehand, you are more than welcome to call or stop by our studio to talk with our instructors.
WILL I LOSE WEIGHT PRACTICING YOGA?
A regular yoga practice burns calories and can speed up your body’s metabolism, so yes, many people do lose weight.
I’M NOT FLEXIBLE, CAN I STILL PRACTICE YOGA?
Many advanced yoga students couldn’t even touch their toes their first class! Practicing yoga regularly will increase your flexibility many times over.
WILL I GET SWEATY?
Yes, you will get sweaty—but that is a good thing! Our skin is the biggest detoxifying organ in the body and sweating is one of the best ways to cleanse our system.
WHAT IF I AM VERY SORE AFTER PRACTICING YOGA?
When we use our bodies in new ways, it is natural to get sore—sometimes very sore! Don’t worry, it will pass. If you ever feel too sore to practice, take a day off. But if you are just a little sore, sometimes practicing yoga will relieve the tension.
I HAVE CHRONIC KNEE OR BACK PROBLEMS, CAN I PRACTICE YOGA?
A regular yoga practice can alleviate and sometimes even eliminates chronic pain, but if you have a serious problem, check with your doctor first and always follow this piece of advice: “If in doubt, sit it out.” If something hurts in class, don’t do it. It’s that simple.
I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, CAN I PRACTICE YOGA?
Through exercise and diet, many people are able to lower their blood pressure, but check with your doctor first and be sure to let your teacher know of your condition as certain postures should be avoided.
